One of the beautiful Canary Islands situated 100 miles off the Moroccan coast of North Africa. The landscape is breathtaking as a result of volcanic activity. The development of tourism is very tightly controlled. There are many places of interest and beauty to visit. They have used their unique natural geology to create some fascinating environments. I am a confirmed non-tourist, but for once, I admit, there are some places worth visiting! You may want to visit the Fire Mountains, or the house made inside lava bubbles, or the natural underground theatre and caverns. Alternatively, there are Camel Safaris, surfing expeditions and whale spotting cruises. Whatever your taste, there are too many things to do and you will have problems choosing which to miss out.

The weather – what can I say. They do know what clouds are, but they might forget sometimes! One of the great things about the Island is the breeze. You rarely feel lethargic despite the sunshine because of this refreshing breeze. Temperatures in March range from a lovely 65 to 85ºF. But watch out or you might catch a nasty sunburn. Just ask Jens. :-)
